Dive Master (DM)

The first professional level of diving in the industry, the most thorough, comprehensive preparation available for an exciting new career opportunity. The Dive Master course places you on the first rung of the professional ladder of diver training. You will be introduced to the duties of a PADI Divemaster as well as enhancing your knowledge of dive theory and perfecting your in-water skills. Throughout the whole course you will be gaining hands-on experience assisting Instructors with there every day roles in the water and in the classroom. The minimum duration of the course is 14 days. You can also have the option of completing the Divemaster course as an internship that lasts up to 12 weeks.

Conducted over 2 weeks the course includes:

• Knowledge Development to Instructor level
• Pool skills training
• Problem solving
• Rescue practice & swims
• Confined water skills assessment and development
• Working as an Assistant to the Dive Courses
• Training as assistant with certified divers, introductory divers, under supervision of our Instructors


Prerequisites:

• Minimum age 18 years
• Full set of dive gear. (available for hire or purchase)
• 20 logged dives to enroll
• Text books required for course
• Dawn Dives Uniform supplied

Emergency First Response Instructor


Increase your earning potential as an EFRI. As an EFRI you can conduct the Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care as well as the Care for Children courses independently.

Prerequisites:

• Padi Dive Master Certification
• Emergency First Response Certification or Qualifying Certification from another certification organization

Conducted over one day, the Course Includes:

The EFR Primary and Secondary Care and Care for Children Instructor Courses, you will learn how to run the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), emergency oxygen and conscious choking management skills.

We can run this as an extension to the IDC.

Instructor Development Course (IDC)



Dawn Dives 5*IDC now offers the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC).

As a PADI Instructor you will enjoy the distinction of being the world's most sought after dive professional with career opportunities world wide.

So you want to become a PADI Instructor? Well here's how. During the IDC, you'll learn to become one of the best diver training professionals in the world. Utilising the PADI System of diver education to help train individuals you will receive knowledge that will make you a proficient and respected instructor wherever you want to teach in the world. You will receive comprehensive training, with the help of our experienced Course Director. We believe in high standards and know there is a difference. Our Programs are run by highly professional staff with many years experience in Instructor training.

The IDC is the ideal way to become a full Open Water Scuba Instructor. It consists of 2 parts, the 4 day Assistant Instructor course and the 6 day OWSI course. On successful completion of the full IDC, candidates are eligible to take the 2 day PADI Instructor Examination.

Sharing the experience with other candidates enables you to have the support and camaraderie of a team. You will also be making new friends and vital contacts for your future diving career.

Prerequisites:

• Minimum age 18 years
• PADI Dive Master or be an assistant instructor in good standing with another training organization for at least six months (We can advise if you qualify.)
• Proof of CPR training within the last 24 months
• Hold a dive certification for at least six months
• Have 60 logged dives that include night, deep and navigation dives prior to starting the IDC course - 100 logged dives required prior to taking the Instructor Exam
• Current (not less than 1 year prior to IE date) medical clearance signed by a physician
• Full set of dive gear. (available for hire or purchase)
• Text books required for course
• Dawn Dives Uniform supplied

What happens next?

So long as you have at least 100 logged dives and have successfully completed the full IDC, you will be eligible to take the 2 day PADI Instructor Examination. Here your knowledge, instructional ability in classroom, confined water and open water and rescue abilities will be assessed by an Instructor Examiner representing one of PADI's international offices. Instructor candidates become PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors only after successfully completing an IE.

Instructor Examinations are scheduled to take place immediately after the IDC.

Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT)

After your OWSI certification, the next step is your Master Scuba Diver Trainer. With this certification you will go one step further as a professional in the diving industry.

On certification you will be able to teach a varied amount of specialities you decide to train for. Thus making you a more sought after dive professional with career opportunities world wide. Duration of course, add an extra 5 days to your IDC.

Staff Instructor

If you are already an MSDT, you will want to progress even further. As a Staff Instructor, you will gain respect from fellow dive professionals and have a valuable qualification to add to your CV. As A Staff Instructor, you will be able to staff the PADI IDC's and independently train Assistant Instructors.

Conducted over 2 days plus auditing a complete IDC (See above for IDC dates for 2006). Or sessions on the 7 IDC Curriculum components from the PADI AI course to fit your schedule, the course includes:
