You improve your buoyancy control, your situational awareness, and the way you adapt to new depths, environments, and types of dives.

Control

You move with more ease, more precision, and better feelings underwater, even when you are outside what already felt familiar.

Enjoyment

The more comfortable and calm you feel underwater, the more you enjoy each dive and everything going on around you.

Real progress

It is not just another card. You finish the course with a very clear feeling that you have genuinely moved forward.

A real step up

It is one of those courses where you notice you are leaving the basics behind and starting to dive with more confidence in yourself and a different perspective.

A Great Place to Learn, Explore, and Enjoy Diving on a Different Level

One of the best things about doing your advanced diving course in Lanzarote is the setting itself. You have volcanic underwater landscapes, good visibility on many days, and the kind of diving that makes each dive feel a bit different.

Around Playa Blanca, there is a really good variety of dives. One day can feel calm and easy, and the next can bring something different. That works especially well on a course like this, where you are trying new specialties and discovering new ways of diving. And that is a big part of why doing it here feels so worthwhile. You are not only learning more. You are also enjoying the surroundings and feeling that each dive gives you something real.

This Is How Your SSI Advanced Open Water Diver Course in Lanzarote Works with Dawn Dives

You choose 3 specialties to try, plus Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation. This makes the course feel more personal and better suited to what you want to experience and improve as a diver.

You can go for specialties that feel more about exploration and excitement, like deep diving, night diving, or wreck diving, and combine them with others that help you gain more control and confidence, like navigation, buoyancy, or search and recovery.

The idea is simple: to build a course that makes sense for you.

Once you have chosen your specialties, you do the theory in MySSI.

You go through the content for each specialty and complete the knowledge review, so you arrive at each dive knowing what you are going to practise, what you need to pay attention to, and how to get more out of it.

The theory is not heavy, and it is not there just to give you more information for the sake of it. It is there so that, once you get in the water, everything makes more sense and each dive feels more useful.

The course includes 2 mandatory specialties: Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation. You also choose 3 more specialties to try, based on what you want to experience underwater and what you want to improve as a diver.

This keeps the experience personal, while giving the course a clear structure to help you progress with more control and confidence.

Some options may depend on your age. We will explain everything before you start, so you know what applies in your case.

Your Advanced Diving Course at Dawn Dives: Well Guided, Done Properly

On a course like this, it is not only about what you do. It also matters a lot how it is taught and how you are guided through the whole process.

At Dawn Dives, we are an SSI Diamond Centre and an SSI Instructor Training Centre. We do not just train divers, we also train dive professionals. And that shows in the way we explain things, the way we correct small details, and the way we make each part of the course feel clear and worth doing.

You are not here just to tick off five dives and move on. You are here to do a course that is well guided, well organised, and taught by people who help you get the most out of it.We are based in Playa Blanca, inside the H10 Rubicon Horizons Collection, with our own facilities, well maintained equipment, and a stable team that knows the area really well.

The people who guide you through your Advanced Open Water

One of the nicest things about an Advanced Open Water course is that each dive opens a different door.

At Dawn Dives Academy, we like to run it with clear guidance, a good pace and that sense of calm that helps you make the most of every part of it.

Hervé

I like diving that is done calmly, with attention and with time to understand each step properly.

Pepe

Teaching has always been a very important part of my path in diving, and I still place a lot of value on seeing someone grow in confidence in the water.

Óscar

The sea has been with me for years, and I still get in the water with the same feeling as always: that it is where I feel best.

Rinus

For me, diving still has something very special, and even today I really value those courses where everything is learned naturally and without rushing.

Claudia

Staying close, explaining things simply and seeing someone become more comfortable in the water is still a very beautiful part of this job.

What Our Students Value Most

At Dawn Dives, many students come for an advanced diving course and leave with more than just a certification: clear guidance, a better experience in the water, and the feeling that they really got the most out of every dive.

If you want to know what the experience with us is really like, the most useful thing is to read what other divers say after doing the course with us.

Cancellation and changes policy

  • If you cancel 24 hours or more in advance, we give you a full refund.
  • If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the booking is non-refundable.
  • If you have paid a deposit to secure your place on a course, that deposit is non-refundable.

We do the dives at sites around Playa Blanca and nearby areas, always choosing the most suitable place depending on the sea, the specialties, and the level of the group.

Safety comes first. If the conditions are not right, we reorganise the plan or change the order of the course so you can still get the most out of it.

MySSI theory is usually available in several languages. Normally, you can do it in Spanish, English, or French.

That depends on your pace and on the specialties you choose. The good thing is that the online theory lets you move forward at your own rhythm before or during the course. If you arrive with some of it done, you usually get more out of the dives.

And when you feel like taking it one step further?
