Who Is This Mini Scuba Diving Course For?

If you’d like to start with a beginner scuba course, this is a great place to begin.

In one morning or afternoon, you’ll cover the basics, practise in the pool, and finish with a real dive in the sea.

If it’s your first time and you have no experience

Starting in the pool really helps. You practise the basics first and then move into the sea step by step.

If you’re coming as a family or with children

We adapt the session to each person, so everyone can enjoy it at their own pace. Kids can join from age 10.

We run the Mini Course in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, with a shore dive just in front of our dive centre.

A Beginner Scuba Course, Done Right

Here’s how it works from start to finish: clear, well organised, and step by step.

Short and simple theory

We give you the theory you need in a clear and easy way, based on what you’ll be doing later in the sea.

Just what you need to do it properly.

Pool skills first

We start in the pool, where you practise the basics: breathing, equipment, and a few key skills.

This is where everything starts to make sense.

We go with you, step by step

Before going into the sea, we go over the signals, answer any questions, and make sure everything is ready.

If something needs repeating, we repeat it.

Then into the sea

We do a real shore dive just in front of the dive centre. And once you’re underwater, this is where the fun begins: Lanzarote’s volcanic seabed and marine life.

Real time underwater

The idea is to enjoy the dive and practise what you’ve learned, with around 40 minutes underwater and a depth of about 8–10 metres, as long as you feel comfortable.

There’s no pressure to go deeper than you want to.

A great finish and a next step if you want one

You leave with a full experience and a solid foundation.

And if you feel like continuing, we can show you how to move on to SSI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver, with no pressure.

Cancellation Policy for the Mini Course (Clear and Simple)

We know plans can change in Lanzarote, so here it is, short and clear:

  • If you cancel 24 hours in advance or more: full refund.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance: the booking is non-refundable.
  • If your booking includes a deposit (for example, boat dives, courses, or specific activities): that deposit is non-refundable.
  • If we cancel for safety, weather, or operational reasons: full refund.

And if you just need to move it to another day, send us a message as soon as you can and we’ll do our best to reschedule it, subject to availability.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Mini Scuba Diving Course for beginners

No. This is a beginner scuba course, so you can come with no experience at all. We start in the pool, take it step by step, and then move into the sea.

You don’t need to be a perfect swimmer, but you should feel comfortable in the water. If you’re not very confident, just let us know and we’ll take it calmly.

 It happens more often than you think. That’s why we go step by step and with no rush. If you need to stop, repeat something, or take a moment, that’s absolutely fine.

This is one of the most common questions when people start diving. We’ll show you how to equalise and we go down slowly. If you need more time, we take more time.

Contact lenses: yes, no problem.
Glasses: they can’t be worn inside the mask. If you have a strong prescription, let us know in advance and we’ll tell you the best option.

Yes. This Mini Course can count as credit towards SSI Scuba Diver and SSI Open Water Diver, so if you want to continue later, you’ve already made a start.

It’s best to leave enough time between diving and flying. If you tell us when you’re flying, we’ll guide you based on the standard recommendation.

 If you’re congested, it’s usually not a good idea because of ear and sinus pressure. Send us a message and we’ll talk it through with you.

It depends on the case. The best thing is to tell us in advance so we can review the medical questionnaire with you and, if needed, suggest checking with your doctor.

No. Try Scuba is a shorter experience, usually more one-to-one, with less time underwater and less depth. The Mini Course includes pool practice plus a sea dive, more time in the water, and a more course-based approach.

Yes, it’s a similar idea in that it’s designed for beginners with no experience. The difference is that our Mini Course is run with SSI and includes pool practice first, then a real dive in the sea, with more of a course feel and a calm, step-by-step approach.

This Mini Course is run with SSI. If you decide to continue afterwards, we can explain the next step towards SSI Scuba Diver or SSI Open Water Diver.

This Mini Course is part of the SSI training path, so the direct credit applies towards SSI Scuba Diver and SSI Open Water Diver.
