The best thing about a specialty is not just the card
More confidence
You practise one specific thing until you really understand it and do it with more ease.
And you notice that quickly: you get in the water feeling more comfortable, calmer and with fewer doubts.
More options
The more tools you have, the more ways of diving open up to you.
New types of dives, new destinations and more freedom to choose what you feel like doing.
More control
You improve the small things that make a big difference: how you descend, how you navigate, how you manage your gas, how you move and how you react in certain situations.
More enjoyment
When you feel more comfortable and clearer underwater, you stop thinking about everything at once and focus on the best part: diving, looking around and enjoying it.

Before you book, we make it clear what is included, what you need and how everything is organised, so nothing catches you by surprise.
To secure your place, we ask for a deposit of 50€. The rest is paid when you arrive at the centre.

Real reviews from divers who have trained and dived with us
The best way to get a real feel for it is not what we say about ourselves, but how people describe their experience after diving and training with us.

Totally recommended! We had an amazing experience, Oscar and his team took great care of us, leading us in 4 fantastic dives in Lanzarote. It was the first experience after the PADI Open Water certifcation and we felt absolutely safe and comfortable in every moment with them. 10/10 experience.

I’m usually a nervous and anxious diver, and it had been over 6 years since my last dive — but I felt completely at ease doing my refresher with Oscar and Pepe. They were both incredibly calm, patient, and attentive, which made all the difference. Every dive was amazing! We saw so many incredible things — rays, eels, octopus, cuttlefish, and lots of beautiful fish. I highly recommend Dawn Dives Academy, especially if you’re a bit nervous or out of practice. They’ll make you feel safe, confident, and excited to be underwater again! 🙌
Your specialties at Dawn Dives: clear, well guided and easy to follow
We are an SSI Instructor Training Center in Lanzarote.
But beyond the logos, what really matters is how we teach each course: with clear explanations, a solid method and real attention, so you understand what you are doing and do not feel like you are just ticking exercises off.
The point is not only to leave with one more certification. The point is to come out of the water feeling that something has genuinely changed: more control, more ease or more confidence, depending on the specialty you do.
And for us, that is what makes the real difference.
The Dawn Dives team
Behind Dawn Dives there is a team that understands diving the way we like it: well explained, without rushing, and with real attention.
Hervé
After so many years in diving, I still believe that learning properly from the start changes the whole experience.
Pepe
I like teaching calmly, clearly and without assuming anything, so you can enjoy the process while really learning.
Óscar
For me, diving still feels special every time I get in the water, and I like bringing that into every course.
Rinus
I try to make everything flow: for you to understand, gain confidence and experience the course naturally from the very beginning
Claudia
I love being in the water with people and seeing them go from that first doubt to coming out smiling and wanting more.
That really depends on what you feel like improving. If you want something useful from the very beginning, Nitrox or Perfect Buoyancy are usually very good choices. If you are more drawn to trying something different, Deep Diving, Wreck, Night Diving or Underwater Photography may suit you better.
There is no one right answer. If you already know what you want to work on, a specialty course is usually the best way to go straight to it. If you feel like trying different things and progressing in a broader way, Advanced Open Water may make more sense.
Yes, absolutely. If you already have a PADI certification or one from another recognised agency, you can usually continue with SSI specialty courses without any problem.
Yes, the goal is very similar: learning how to use enriched air safely. Here we teach it as SSI Enriched Air Nitrox. See the card above for price, requirements and what is included.
Yes, the goal is very similar: learning how to do deeper dives with more control, better planning and within the limits of recreational diving. Here we teach it as SSI Deep Diving Specialty.
Yes, the goal is very similar. Here we teach it as SSI Wreck Diving Specialty. In our case, the course is designed to help you move safely around the wreck, without going inside it.
Yes, the goal is very similar: learning how to dive at night or in limited visibility with more control and more safety. Here we teach it as SSI Night Diving & Limited Visibility. Check the course card above or write to us and we’ll help you choose.
Yes, the goal is very similar: improving your buoyancy, trim and overall control underwater. Here we teach it as SSI Perfect Buoyancy.
Yes, the goal is very similar: helping you get better results underwater while still diving comfortably and safely. Here we teach it as SSI Photo & Video Specialty.
Ideally, yes, you should bring your own camera, or at least tell us which one you plan to use so we can adapt the course better to your equipment.
Yes. React Right is SSI’s first aid course and plays a role very similar to programmes such as PADI Emergency First Response or comparable courses from other agencies.
Yes. React Right does not require any previous certification, so you can do it even if you are not a certified diver.
It is also the certification you need if you want to move on to the SSI Stress & Rescue course afterwards.
Choose your SSI specialty course and we’ll take care of the rest
If you already know which one feels right for you, perfect.
And if you are still between a few options, that is completely fine too.
Tell us your level, the kind of diving you enjoy and what you would like to work on, and we will help you choose the specialty that makes the most sense for you.
